NCG Abatement Solutions
RTO and Scrubber for NCG Control
MEGTEC supplies fully integrated solutions of control for NCG (non-condensable gas) abatement requirements. Reliably controlling and abating the NCG stream is of primary concern to plant operations. The NCG stream contains H2S, methane, mercury, benzene and other compounds or metals that are required to be controlled. Our solution solidly addresses the challenges to meet your operating permit requirements with provisions to minimize scheduled maintenance.
NCG Challenges
Abating the NCG stream is a demanding requirement. Acid corrosion, high energy content, 100% saturation, and metal content are the key concerns. Properly addressing each concern keeps your plant in compliance.
The solution for treating the NCG stream is made up of various pieces of equipment. Scrubbers, quenchers, and oxidizers complete the system. Containing sulfur-bearing compounds, the NCG stream is particularly aggressive and saturated. Proper materials of construction are essential to the longevity of the equipment.
Benzene and methane are thermally oxidized. Methane is usually found in high concentrations, which means during thermal oxidation, a large energy release is expected. Control of this energy release is critical. Benzene though, poses no specific issues and is controlled without issues.
H2S when thermally oxidized produces acid gases. A quench and acid gas scrubber controls the SO2 and SO3. The sulfur compounds can also precipitate out in the oxidizer. Steam coils and PLC controls maintain system inlet and outlet temperatures which is necessary to prevent elemental sulfur buildup in the oxidizer.
MEGTEC has developed a single source solution to address these challenges in an efficient and reliable package.
